CLEAN commotion

Earlier there was this fuss about "BERSIH" which if translated in English means CLEAN. Honestly at first it struck me as a commotion about useless stuff that Malaysia is well known of and I really can't be bothered to check it out..I'm not exactly the best person to be blogging about politics. As I don't really have interest on that topic. I rather spend my time reading some no-name guy writing about his weird perspective of life than spending an hour listening to the news.

Coming back to the topic (I'm swaying away from what I'm suppose to be blogging about..as usual)..so this commotion about the BERSIH rally had became a big hit in my home country...Not only people in the country itself but some to other Malaysians in London, New York, Australia and bla bla bla (can't remember all the country where the scattered Malaysian had taken part in this rally). Almost everyone on my facebook list (which are mostly Malaysian, and some other people from some other places) had the BERSIH badge pasted sharp and yellow on their profile picture...So I decided, I must check it out..especially people around me started to write how we should support this rally and its a turning point for Malaysia..its time we speak for ourself as the citizen of the country and so many other political issues involve..

In fact, I did not still really took notice of this issue till after the rally itself where there were videos (click on the video above and you'll get what I meant by abused!!) of people who took part in the rally were beaten by the police who were there to control the situation. I was kinda shock the way people were treated by the justice upholder of the country. I never really see it coming..I mean, since Malaysia is a democratic country, I believe we have the right for free speech. Adding that this concern our country's society as a whole. Noted that, this rally was held to submit a memorandum to the king requesting for a more transparent and cleaner government, elections, and other political issues that are involved (this includes no bribery, equality, scandals and money laundering schemes among the higher authorities). Dumbfounded!!

While watching some of the clips posted on you tube, a line from V-for-Vendetta struck me, 'the government should be afraid of the people and not the other way round'. That is the line that our government should really be looking at. I was deeply hurt to the point that tears started welling up around my eyes while watching those clips of people being kicked, slapped and thrown on the ground by the police during the rally. It was suppose to be a peaceful rally but ended up so badly that so many citizens of Malaysia were hurt. In Malaysia, its always been the case where many of us kept quiet without questioning the government, supporting them always hoping they would bring wealth, unity and peacefulness to the people and the society. However, looking at what they had done to their people when all they asked for is a peaceful rally in hope for a more fair, justified and cleaner politic where every single citizen has the right and place in the country.

For those who attended the rally, I'm really truly proud of you..You guys had done a great job. I express my stand here in the country of supporting for a cleaner and transparent government in which every single citizen are equal. I'm sorry for those who are hurt badly during the rally. I hope you guys get well soon. All the best in fighting for the true right as a citizen and what's best for the country as a whole.

Do you still remember that when we still studying Sejarah, we learnt of a fact where "Malaysia adalah sebuah negara demokrasi. Setiap rakyat mempunyai hak untuk berkumpul, hak asasi manusia dan sebagainya KECUALI perkara yang menyentuh hal agama Islam dan kedudukan orang Melayu."

yeah..and now they are not allowing us to have a peace rally that has a good reason of asking for a clean democratic government..it has really nothing to do with being muslim or not..is a lot about the country standing up together as one!!
